Beginner Calligraphy Classes

What you’ll get:

What we’ll do:

If you’re interested in learning calligraphy, thinking of starting your own business, or just like to try something new – this class is for you. This class is truly meant for beginners – if you’ve never picked up a calligraphy pen before, you’ll want to take this class! We’ll go over the basics, including dipping your pin in ink, understanding ink flow and pressure, basic script letter forms, and developing your own lettering style. I’ll be available to answer any questions about calligraphy and starting a calligraphy business. Classes will be small in size (no more than 10 people) to maximize learning!

Where are the classes held?

Each class will be held at a different location. Please read addresses, times, and cities carefully next to each date as they vary! Right now, Blue Eye Brown Eye offers courses in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin, TX.

How do I book a class?

Lowercase/Beginner sessions are $150 per person, including supplies. Lessons begin at 6:00 pm (unless otherwise noted below) and typically last 3 hours.

A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to hold your place in the class and help cover the cost of supplies. If you need to cancel, please give me 48 hours in advance notice.

Uppercase/Advanced Calligraphy Classes

• Colored Gouache
• Tracing paper pad
• Practice alphabet and grid
• Extra goodies

What we’ll do:

If you’re interested in advancing your calligraphy skills and building on your learning – this class is for you. This class is intended for those who have taken my beginner class, or have taken a course before using an oblique pen and nib. We’ll dive right in with the uppercase alphabet, go over using colored inks and mixing gouache, and practice writing words and phrases. Classes will be small in size (no more than 10 people) to maximize learning.
